🎭 Somewhere between pain and rebirth… there is only noise.

Screaming—pure, unrelenting—cuts through the night like shattered glass.
It’s his voice.
The last piece of the Nightly Storyteller still holding on.

He screams.
Not from fear. Not from madness.
But from transformation. 🩸🕯️

The cursed necklace—Veilfire—pulses against his chest.
His body convulses. Muscles tear, skin flickers with unnatural light, breath turns hollow and metallic.
His soul fights to stay his own.

Then… silence.

From the mist steps a figure. Cloaked in flowing midnight silk, silver staff glinting with glyphs lost to time.
👁️‍🗨️ “He’s not gone. Not yet.”

🌀 Chronicles Interlude

The Storyteller trembles, caught between human and something… else.
Skin faintly glowing. Breath like the whisper of gears.
Seraphine kneels beside him, heart pounding. 💔

The Veyatra—ancient shapeshifters who speak only in the mind—form a circle around them.
Their voices ring inside Seraphine’s skull like echoes through a tunnel of stars.

🗣️ “This object—the Necklace of Veilfire—is not good, nor evil, nor kind.
It amplifies what already exists.
If his soul turns dark, if he becomes corrupted...
You must stop him.”

Seraphine chokes back tears.
🥺 “He’s my friend.”

🔮 “And you are his fate.”

With solemn precision, the Veyatra raise their hands and begin to chant.
A spell wraps itself around Val, the Storyteller’s closest confidant.
🦇 The shapeshifting bat now answers only to her.
👜 The Heartweaver’s Bag reveals its full strength—but only in her grasp.

She feels it. The surge. The responsibility. The cost.

As the Veyatra fade into smoke and starlight, they turn one last time to Seraphine:

⚠️ “The creature you seek—
forged from steel, rage, and broken memory—
can only be defeated by those like him:

📚 Bookworms.
🧠 Storykeepers.
🕰️ The ones who remember what came before.”
