📺 Stay Tuned: Broadcasting from the Other Side — The Signal Found Me

🎵 Song of the Day: “People Are Strange” – Echo & The Bunnymen (The Doors cover)
(Let it play. Let the static build. Let the melody bleed through the screen…)

🎙️ Monologue – Transmission Begins

It started with a tape.

A blank VHS, smooth plastic casing. Handed to me by a clerk who never blinked. His smile looked painted on. His eyes didn’t reflect light.

Now time feels… wrong. Bent. Warped.

They say you can lose hours to a screen.
I lost a day.
And I don’t think all of me came back.

📼 The Storyteller Chronicles: Signal Acquired

The others had left.
Danny made one last joke about Chopping Mall and cheap snacks.
Rhett rolled his eyes, muttering something about “weird energy.”
Val paused before leaving—looked at me like she wanted to say something but chose silence.

Then the door shut.
Just me. The room. And the tape:
Specimen 7A.

I slid it into the VCR.

Whir.
Click.
Buzz.
Black.

And then…
me.

🩸 A Descent into Static

It wasn’t a movie.
It was a broadcast.
Of me. My memories. My body.
But twisted—mutating in real time.

Skin stretched. Veins pulsed neon beneath the surface. Teeth grew into serrated shapes.
I started speaking in languages I’d never studied—but understood. Raw, ancient truths spilled from my mouth like confession and prophecy.

I wasn’t watching a signal.
I was in it.

Each channel revealed another version of me—different lives, different endings.
Each one worse than the last.

And beneath the static, a voice whispered:

> “You’re not becoming something new.

You’re remembering what you are.”

🎬 Let’s Talk About Stay Tuned (1992)

If The Ring and Beetlejuice had a weird, media-obsessed cousin, this is it.

In Stay Tuned, John Ritter and Pam Dawber are sucked into a demonic satellite system called HELLvision—forced to survive twisted TV parodies in order to escape.

It’s wild, sharp, and wonderfully absurd—TV hellscapes like:

📺 Three Men and Rosemary’s Baby

🚗 Driving Over Miss Daisy

🔪 Murder, She Likes

🤘 Duane’s Underworld (Wayne’s World… but in hell)

It’s satire, horror, and ‘90s cheese served with a smile—and something sinister just beneath the laugh track.

But for me?
There were no jokes.
No laugh track.
Just a remote in my hand… and every channel led back to me.

---

📡 Did You Know?

🔹 Stay Tuned was originally pitched as a dark horror film. The final cut was toned down to a family-friendly horror-comedy.

🔹 Jeffrey Jones’s villain was modeled after real-life TV execs—obsessed with ratings, manipulation, and power.

🔹 Many of the parody segments were cut or softened to avoid backlash… but early drafts included much more graphic and surreal content.

🧬 Side Effects May Vary

When I came back, I was on the floor.
The TV was dark.
The tape—gone.

My arms were glowing. Just for a moment.
Then… still.

The only sound was my breath, ragged and uneven. I checked my phone:
📱 17 missed calls. 24 unread messages.
Val. Rhett. Danny. Unknown numbers.

> I’d been gone for over 24 hours.

My skin began to itch again—deeper this time, as if whatever was inside was waking up.
Stretching.

And then came the knock.
Three soft, deliberate taps.
No one there.

Just a package. Wrapped in matte black paper.
No return address.
Only my name.

🔍 Shelf of Secrets Update

📦 New Item: Burned Remote Control
🔋 Power Source: Unknown
📡 Effect: Flickers when touched. Briefly displayed an image of me… standing behind myself.
📍 Found: On the TV stand. It wasn’t there before the tape.

---

🕳️ Final Thoughts

I’ve crossed into something bigger now.
The transformation isn’t a theory anymore.

Something is rewriting me—one frame at a time.
And the signal… it’s not finished broadcasting.
